Founded in 1975, the Australian Ladies Amateur Radio Association (ALARA) began as a small group of women passionate about amateur radio. Today, it boasts over 200 members, including international "YLs" (Young Ladies, regardless of age) sponsored by Australian members on a reciprocal basis.
