ARI Fidenza (IQ4FE): A Hub of Amateur Radio and Community Service Since 1972

Fidenza, Italy – The A.R.I. (Associazione Radioamatori Italiani) Sezione di Fidenza, identified by its call sign IQ4FE, has been a thriving center for amateur radio enthusiasts since its founding in 1972. Originally established by a close-knit group of radio amateurs and SWLs (Shortwave Listeners), the section now boasts over 80 registered members.

You can find the section at P.ZZA GARIBALDI 25/F, 43036 FIDENZA PR. For inquiries, you can contact IW4CLV Cornini Cristiano. The section holds its technical meetings and gatherings on the 1st and 3rd Friday of each month, starting at 9:00 PM.

Diverse Activities and Resources

ARI Fidenza is involved in a wide array of activities, including special events, meetings, contests, and much more. A significant resource managed by the section is its highly active ARI Fidenza Amateur Radio Forum, which has been a valuable reference point for Italian and international radio amateurs and enthusiasts since 2002.

The section directly manages several transceiving systems:

  • VHF Repeater IR4M (also active as an Echolink node)
  • UHF Repeater IR4ZZR
  • ATV (Amateur Television) Repeater IR4UBJ
  • 50MHz Band Beacon

Community Engagement and Emergency Preparedness

Beyond recreational activities, ARI Fidenza plays a crucial role in public service. The section is responsible for the technical management and maintenance of the Civil Protection COC-COM Radio Room, in agreement with the Municipality of Fidenza. This radio room is activated during disasters and exceptional events to ensure optimal communication flow.

Throughout its long history, the section has frequently contributed to various emergencies, earning numerous commendations from the Municipality, Prefectures, and the Ministry of Interior.

Scientific Collaboration

ARI Fidenza is also engaged in fascinating experimental work on Electromagnetic Seismic Precursors, a collaborative effort with the National Institute of Geophysics and Volcanology (I.N.G.V.).

International Sister Associations

Demonstrating its commitment to international camaraderie, ARI Fidenza is twinned with sister associations in Systeron, France, and Herrenberg, Germany.

With a rich history, diverse activities, and a strong commitment to both the amateur radio community and public service, ARI Fidenza continues to be a dynamic and essential part of the Italian radio landscape.
